Good Ending
It always rains kittens in the spring at the Animal Protective League in Springfield, IL despite their decades-long spay/neuter program. This week saw a brief, heavy downpour in the fall when someone spotted two good sized cardboard boxes between some fir trees on the property. He was lucky to have seen them.
He brought the boxes to the shelter. Each was filled with young, frightened kittens, enough that the entire floor of each box was filled with these babies. They weren’t newborns, but were very young. They have pretty faces and were huddled together, but they didn’t look malnourished at first glance.
Of course, APL took them in and will find foster caregivers after they have been examined by a vet and given immediate care.
Both good and bad people roam this world.
Mister Rogers was right: Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.
